  2. As one who has met Dan I’m looking forward to reading this truly courageous memoir and reflection on his first-hand experience. As a primary source on the subject of same-sex attraction the wisdom of the Church is validated by a person who is living out the joyful embrace of chastity. Furthermore, his witness speaks to all of us.

  3. Fantastic news and congratulations. Of all the voices out there on the subject, yours is the one I am most attuned to and the one I strongly believe most needs to be heard. Your public witness cannot be easy and must come with some personal cost. But I thank you for it and I thank God for your presence – it has been enormously helpful to me. I look forward to reading and recommending the book.

  4. Hey Dan! Thought I should let your readers know that unfortunately the release date for your book has been pushed back to June 5, 2017 according to Amazon.ca, and June 15, 2017 according to Amazon.com. So I assume the same is said for Ignatius Press. Too bad but here’s hoping it comes out at least before the Conference so that those who are going to the Conference can get it signed by you (if you are willing to do that, that is) though I imagine there will be copies sold at the Conference too!

Look forward to meeting you this summer at the Conference!

    God bless!

  5. Hi Daniel! I just discovered that your book just came out. And I had just written a post expressing concerns about Father James Martin’s book. You may find some good things here that I have shared and if its helpful, feel free to pass it on. Now I have to go get your book!

    My recent post:
In the post below you will read about a serious concern about popular Jesuit priest, Father James Martin’s upcoming book on “Building a Bridge” between the Catholic Church and the “LGBT” Community. I provide links to other articles that raise grave concerns about what is taught in this book and then conclude by articulating Catholic teaching on human sexuality and the Sacrament of Marriage. The articulation comes in the context of a correspondence I initiated with respected political columnist Guy Benson who revealed he is same sex attracted a couple years ago! My post intends to bring together the recent critiques of Father Martin and the authentic Catholic resources for those who are same sex attracted. If you share these concerns, feel free to use any content I present in this post if you also want to write a letter to the Bishop of your diocese: https://easterpeople.me/2017/05/08/guarding-the-flock-from-a-bridge-to-nowhere/

  6. Dear sir, words can not express how I feel right now at having found you and your blog. I won’t go into needless detail on how I came to find out about you, only that I believe God put it in my heart to post on FB some thoughts in defense of our Pope. At the same time I was struggling with my own same sex attractions. In posting in some of the Catholic FB groups I happened to come across a review of your book and how it was in keeping with Catholic teaching. I continued to follow links to you until I found myself here. I know that God put it in my heart to make my posts knowing it would guide me to you. Just in reading your posts and blog you have helped me so much. While I knew there were others struggling with their sexual attractions I never knew or heard of anyone who felt like me and refused to identify with the label of “Gay”. I so wish we could speak one on one some time but as long as you keep doing the work you do and I can read your blog I will take comfort in knowing that there is actually someone out there who knows and is going through what I am going through. Do you by any chance have a way for someone to ask you questions without having to post them in a public forum such as this? Anyway thank you so much for your writings, I plan on “following” your blog and look forward to you upcoming book. Praise God in all his glory his ways are not for us to know.

  7. I just heard your interview with Gus and just want to THANK YOU for having the courage to share your story and to follow your calling in helping people get closer to Jesus. I so admire your action of selflessness. I’m sure you’ve helped many. May God Bless you always!

  8. Daniel – You gave me an autographed copy of your book, “Why I Don’t Call Myself Gay,” several weeks ago at the CMN/CWG conference. I am about halfway through it. (I always read about 4 books at once–or I would be finished with it 🙂 I will review it on Amazon and on Goodreads when I finish it. It is a wonderful, wonderful book. Your book is appealing on an emotive, spiritual, theological, philosophical, intellectual, and political level. Indeed, you “birthed” a great book. I wish that everyone would read it. Quite an accomplishment.
    Congratulations & thank you, Meggie
